Enquiries and quotes
On this page
Quotes live under Quotes: enquiries, priced quotes and the customer's answer.
Record an enquiry
Choose Record an enquiry: the customer, the site, how it came in and what the customer needs, then Record enquiry. Open enquiries are listed with Quote it. An enquiry you will not quote can be closed with a reason.
Price a quote
A quote is a list of priced lines. Pick services from your price book or write a custom line with its quantity and unit price ex GST. Glove adds GST at 10% of the taxable subtotal, rounded half up once, so the total is always to the cent. A line can be GST-free.
Approve the price
A person approves one exact revision's price: Approve revision 1 at $…. An agent can draft a quote but never approve it. Changing any price after approval is a new revision that needs its own approval; earlier revisions and approvals stay on the record.
Record how it went out
Once approved, Record how you sent it (email, printed, in person or phone) and Record as sent. Glove records what a person did; it sends nothing itself and claims no delivery.
Record the customer's answer
When the customer answers, record acceptance or decline of the current revision: their name, how they answered (signed, email reply, phone, in person) and any note. An accepted quote is frozen. It then waits on the dispatch board under Waiting to book until someone creates its job; see Dispatch and visits.
